The Walk, true life story, hits SA in October 2015

The Walk JGL

The Walk, the story of French high-wire artist Philippe Petit’s attempt to cross the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center in 1974, releases in South Africa on Friday, 16 October. It stars Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Sir Ben Kingsley, and looks to be an absolute gem of a film.

Twelve people have walked on the moon, but only one man – Philippe Petit (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) – has ever, or will ever, walk in the immense void between the World Trade Centre towers. Guided by his real-life mentor, Papa Rudy (Ben Kingsley), and aided by an unlikely band of international recruits, Petit and his gang overcome long odds, betrayals, dissension and countless close calls to conceive and execute their mad plan.

The Walk releases at IMAX on Sunday, 9 October, and will hit all other South African cinema screens in 3D on Friday, 16 October.
